Williams Lake's Spirit Square will enhance the town's current Courthouse Square as a public gathering area for such keynote events as the Farmers Market and Christmas Light-Up.
The town plans to create a space that welcomes families, seniors and visitors to join in regular events and connect more on a regular basis and broaden its use for a range of new events.
Features will include a sculpture, pathway connections to neighbouring streets to encourage pedestrian traffic, and new lighting to increase safety and promote greater use of the square.
Williams Lake will receive a $267,500 grant from the provincial government for this project.
