B.C. Spirit Squares
Peachland Becomes Home to Spirit Square Legacy

As part of the overall Beach Avenue Neighbourhood Plan, two B.C. Spirit Squares (one in the Town Centre and the other in the Gateway Area) will create and enhance meeting places for outdoor events on the waterfront of the municipal park. This will include upgrades to washroom facilities, an enhanced seating and meeting plaza and a potential day use dock.

Some concept work has been done as part of the Beach Avenue Neighbourhood Plan that involved extensive public consultation.

Further guidance will be provided by the Parks, Recreation and Culture Committee, as well as the community based Advisory Planning Committee.

Peachland will receive a $185,000 grant from the provincial government to develop these two Spirit Squares. The funding announcement was made Aug. 10 by Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe.
