Celebrating the July 20 Spirit Squares announcement are Mayor Gordy Robson, Ineke Boekhorst of the Downtown Business Association, Bonnie Telep, chair of the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Spirit Committee and MLA Randy Hawes.
The District of Maple Ridge will be developing its very own B.C. Spirit Square by enhancing the existing Memorial Peace Park.
By building on the success of the Memorial Peace Park as a primary gathering place, Maple Ridge's Spirit Square will expand the heart of the community to accommodate even more activity and larger events.
Mayor Gordon Robson is looking forward to hearing from businesses and citizens to see what ideas they have to make this a special place.
Maple Ridge will receive a $500,000 grant from the provincial government for this project.
