This B.C. Spirit Square will be used to celebrate the township's rich cultural heritage as the birthplace of British Columbia.
Fort Langley is one of the earliest European settlements in British Columbia and was the site of the signing of the proclamation creating the Crown Colony of British Columbia in 1858.
This Spirit Square will be a welcome focal point for the new waterfront redevelopment and a gathering place for many generations to come.
The waterfront redevelopment – the largest in Fort Langley’s history – will add about 900 residents to Fort Langley and will focus on green space and making the area accessible to the whole community.
Township of Langley will receive a $377,500 grant from the provincial government for this project.
