Dawson Creek will celebrate its history and culture with a Mile Zero Spirit Square in the downtown core, Premier Gordon Campbell said, announcing $500,000 in provincial support for the project on a visit to the community
Feb. 8, 2008.
Located between two downtown intersections, the Spirit Square will showcase the ‘Mile 0’ post and historic features, making it a pedestrian-friendly landmark, featuring green space, seating, kiosks, public market and entertainment areas.
The square will also help Dawson Creek to celebrate its 50th anniversary as an incorporated city and BC150, the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia in 1858.
