Village of Burns Lake Mayor Bernice Magee, Burns Lake councillors and municipal office staff and Bulkley Valley-Stikine Dennis MacKAY MLA stand proudly with the big Spirit Square cheque at the future Spirit Square site in Nourse Park.
Burns Lake will expand on its commitment to build an economically sustainable and vibrant community by developing its very own B.C. Spirit Square at Nourse Community Park.
Funding from the province will be used to help develop a community waterfront park complete with recreation and meeting areas for both residents and visitors.
Showcasing the area's natural beauty, the Burns Lake Spirit Square will include:
- a bandstand with seating to allow for a place for performances and celebrations;
- landscaped greenery and pathways;
- historical statues and art.
Burns Lake will receive a $247,600 grant from the provincial government for this project.
